My wife Amanda and I moved back to Seattle in early 2021 to be closer to our families . She is a midwife, and a nursing professor at SPU. I am a very lucky man to be married to her. We have 2 boys, Leif and Soren, who are a great joy in our lives. I am also blessed to have two other daughters, Samantha, and Jesica. I grew up in a very musical family, something you sometimes don't appreciate until later in life. My family tree is filled with musicians, and music teachers, and I grew up surrounded by music from an early age.
I spent much of my early musical time with my father, Phil Mattson, an icon in choral music education, and later attended his music vocational school in Spokane, where I studied choral arranging/writing, keyboard, theory, and worked in the recording studio.
